She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice but has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery.

  • Jack Chubaty, D.V.M.

Jack has had a busy life to date. He attended the 1988 Olympics with the Canadian Flatwater canoe team and was also a member of the Canadian Men's Dragon Boat team at the world Dragon Boat Championships. His first career was as a high school teacher, but he soon developed an interest in companion animal medicine.
In 1999 he graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and he joined Sydenham Veterinary Services in 2002. Jack has a special interest in Ultrasonography and Endoscopy.

  • Cherri Waddingham, DVM

Cherri graduated from OVC in 1997 with an interest in ICU and internal medicine. Having grown up in the Sydenham area she decided to move home and build her career locally.  She soon began working at Sydenham Veterinary Services on a part time basis as well as other local clinics.  During this time, she also taught at St. Lawrence College in the Veterinary Technician Program.  After 8 years of teaching, she decided to devote her time fully to practicing medicine at Sydenham Veterinary Services.

  • Peter Gould, DVM

Dr. Gould began his career in Belleville in 1991, followed by just over 4 years on the road serving as a locum vet.  He and his wife built and operated the Brealey Drive Animal Clinic in Peterborough from 1997 to 2017.  They moved to this area to be closer to their grandchildren and build a retirement home.  He is thrilled to be serving the pets in this area!

  • Jenny Theriault, Head RVT

Jenny grew up in the Kingston area and graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2003. She joined the SVS team in 2003 and is currently our head technician.

  • Kim Doucet, RVT

Kim has been a part of the Sydenham Veterinary Services family since 1997 when she worked part time as a receptionist while completing high school and her BScH from Queen's University.

She graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at St. Lawrence College with Distinction in 2009 and started as an RVT with Sydenham Veterinary Services immediately after.

  • Krista Scott, VA

Krista graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2012. She worked at the Kingston Humane Society for 6 years before joining our team here at SVS in 2018.

  • Peggy Vankerkhoven, Receptionist

Peggy comes from a background in nursing and business administration. She has had a love for animals from a young age and is continuing her education in dog training and animal psychology.
  • Crystal Rumbolt, Groomer

With a deep passion for dogs, Crystal started to pursue grooming in 2012 through a course at St. Lawrence College.  She continued onto shadow, assist and learn from multiple other groomers.  Crystal has enjoyed attending multiple seminars including Pet First Aid and has an interest in learning more every day.  She is currently studying Animal Reiki (using energy and compassion for healing) which she hopes to offer in the future.  She also has interest in Canine Esthetics (skin care in dogs).

  • Megan Smith, Assistant Groomer

After exploring many career avenues Megan decided her true passion was for animals. In 2011 she attended the grooming course at St. Lawrence College.  This led her to the clip joint where she joined Crystal as an assistant groomer.  After growing up in the South Frontenac area she decided to give back to the community as a volunteer firefighter.

  • Emma Stanton, Receptionist

Emma is working her way towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.  With the first three years under her belt she is taking some time off to gain some working experience.  Luckily for us, she found her way to Sydenham Veterinary Services and has been an excellent addition to our team!
  • Tanya Longhurst, RVT

Tanya graduated from the St. Lawrence College Veterinary Technology Program in 2007.  During her years in the field, she has worked with small animals as well as large animals and exotics.  Her special interest in ultrasonography has led her to pursue additional training in that field.

  • Gigi

Gigi joined our team in the fall of 2022 as a blind, homeless, street youth.  In his previous life he learned the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.  He can often be found being a complete nuisance in the most adorable ways and endearing himself to our many clients and patients.
