Here at Sydenham Veterinary Services we work as a team to provide the highest quality veterinary medicine possible.  Our American Animal Hospital Accredited Hospital provides routine wellness services, as well as specialty services like endoscopy, advanced imaging, advanced dental procedures, a laser surgery option and a wide range of orthopedic surgery.

  • Leslie Reade, D.V.M.

    Leslie grew up at Sydenham Veterinary Services! She earned her BSc from McMaster University and then graduated from the University of Guelph in 2000 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice but has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery.

    Leslie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being part of her community.

  • Jack Chubaty, D.V.M.

    Jack has had a busy life to date! He went to the 1988 Olympics as a member of the Canadian Flatwater canoe team. He was also a member of the Canadian Men's Dragon Boat team at the world Dragon Boat Championships. He was briefly a teacher but decided he would rather work with four-legged animals!

    In 1999 he graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College and he joined Sydenham Veterinary Services in 2002. Jack has a special interest in Ultrasonography and Endoscopy. He is an avid runner and enjoys carpentry.
  • Cherri Waddingham, DVM

    Dr. Waddingham graduated from OVC in 1997 with an interest in ICU and internal medicine.  She moved back to the Kingston are upon graduation and has been living and working here ever since.  
    She began working at Sydenham Veterinary Services as a locum (part-time) veterinarian.  After teaching at St. Lawrence College in the Veterinary Technology program for 8 years, she returned to practice full time.  She has been with us since 2014.  
    Outside of the clinic, she is kept very busy with two teenage boys, two Labradors, two Siamese cats and one husband.
  • Peter Gould, DVM

    Dr. Gould began his career in Belleville in 1991, followed by just over 4 years on the road serving as a locum vet.  He and his wife built and operated the Brealey Drive Animal Clinic in Peterborough from 1997 to 2017.  They moved to this area to be closer to their grandchildren and build a retirement home.  He is thrilled to be serving the pets in this area!
  • Jenny Theriault

    Registered Veterinary Technician
    Jenny grew up in the Kingston area and graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2003. She joined the SVS team in 2003 and is currently our head technician.
  • Kim Doucet

    Registered Veterinary Technician
    Kim has been a part of the Sydenham Veterinary Services family since 1997. She worked as evening reception and summers while completing high school and her BScH from Queen's University.

    She graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program at St. Lawrence College with Distinction in 2009.

    Kim currently resides in Harrowsmith with her husband, daughter, new son and cat, Ambellina. 
  • Kate Earle

    Registered Veterinary Technician
    Kate is the newest member to our team.  She graduated from Georgian College in April of 2015.  
    She spent time volunteering as a technician in Nepal before moving from Ajax to Kingston.
    She resides here with her kitty McNugget and her horse Blacky.  
  • Meredith Barnard

    Registered Veterinary Technician
    Meredith graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2010 and joined our team in May of 2015.   Meredith has 2 daughters, 2 rottweilers and a cat.  
  • Krista Scott

    Veterinary Assistant
    Krista graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2012. She worked at the Kingston Humane Society for 6 years before joining our team here at SVS. She joined our team in April of 2018. Krista currently resides in Elginburg with her 2 cats (Mister and Amy) and her dog (Honey).
  • Deborah Garrah

    Deb has been part of the SVS team since July 2014. She completed her diploma in Marine Business Management in 1992 from St. Lawrence College.

    Deb was born and raised in Kingston, ON where she met her husband Kevin.  They have 2 children (Jessica and Alec) and two fur sons, Harley (Toy Poodle) and Roger (a cat that originated from SVS).
  • Peggy Vankerkhoven

    Peggy comes from a background in nursing and business administration. She has had a love for animals from a young child and is continuing her education in dog training and animal psychology. Peggy resides locally with her husband Larry and their fur baby Emmett (red Doberman). 
  • Crystal Rumboldt


    With a deep passion for animals, dogs especially, Crystal started to pursue grooming in 2012 through a course at St. Lawrence College.  She continued onto shadow, assist and learn from multiple other groomers.  She has attended multiple seminars including Pet First Aid and continues learning each and every new day.  She is currently studying Animal Reiki (using energy and compassion for healing) which she hopes to offer in the near future.  She also has interest in Canine Esthetics (skin care in dogs).
    She believes every dog has a purpose and would love the opportunity to be part of their journey with you.
